Review

To start off, I haven’t read all of the Hello series by Kelsie Hoss. I have only read two of them and they were not consecutive in the series. With that said - I don’t feel that I had to absolutely read the whole series before reading this book.

THIS BOOK cue the tears and sobbing I am unsure how I can completely review this book because I can’t seem to verbalize how much the emotions hit. We meet Grey at the beginning of his grief journey after having just lost his wife. Likewise, Aggie is going through her own grief of having been left to be a single mom. The two meet at their crossroads and form what begins a very long friendship.

Both of these characters had such touching lives and friendship. They each go through their own journeys of self discovery - and all the failures and successes that it brings them. Hello Handsome was successful in letting the reader see what the loss of a loved one could do to a person. How avoiding something can cause a ripple in the rest of your life - quite often keeping you from something that could make life great.

I did find myself tearing up with Hello Handsome - the feelings of grief, recognition, and acceptance in what it means to let go and let something in…ugh, yeah. This one did me in.

Grey and Aggie are beautiful characters, both as individuals and as a unit. I found myself rooting for them for all kinds of reasons. And now I am looking forward to reading more from this series so I can (1) see how everyone else’s stories started and (2) see if I can catch a glimpse of Grey and Aggie since their story spans decades. Yes. Decades. Buckle in, romance reader.

All in all, I recommend this book to readers of romance because it is ultimately a love story. Be a little wary if you are fresh in your grief. If you have had a chance to sit in your grief - I think this would be a good way to reflect your own thoughts as Hoss has done a great job of doing the feeling of loss justice. Bravo.
