Perfect Romances for October

Doesn’t it seem like it takes forever for October to get here, and then when it’s here, it kind of moves way too fast? Well, take that feeling and multiply it times a hundred because I just spent the last week dealing with an unexpected gallbladder removal surgery. But here I am, feeling a little better every day, thankfully, and I’m ready to make up for the time that I lost. Because yes, that is exactly how it feels.

So, what better way for this blog to celebrate October than by sharing some of my favorite romances that would be perfect for October!

Spookily Yours

by Jennifer Chipman

This was such a fun book! It’s the first book in the Witches of Pleasant Grove series and it is about a witch named Willow (fantastic witch name) who adopts a cat who turns out to be a demon named Damien. Unbeknownst to Willow, Damien has been cursed, and he actually really needs her to break that curse. Along the way, the two start to fall for each other. This read is a good blend of cozy autumn and Halloween vibes with spicy paranormal. It was a quick and fun read for me!

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe

by Laurie Gilmore

If you are looking for the autumn vibes, look no further than this first installment of the Dream Harbor series. It’s difficult to imagine that most people haven’t read this, but hey, maybe you missed it? This story centers on Jeanie and her inheritance of the Pumpkin Spice Cafe. She meets a lot of locals, one in particular being Logan, who is a grumpy and reserved local farmer. The vibe is cozy, definitely Gilmore Girls-coded, with a bit of spice.

Do Your Worst

by Rosie Danan

I don’t remember hearing much about this one when it came out, but I truly love Danan’s work so I read this pretty quick after its release. This is a spicy contemporary with a paranormal twist. It’s about Riley, an accult expert, who is hired to break a curse on a Scottish landmark, Arden Castle. She wants to legitimize her family’s supernatural talents and thinks this case would definitely help. Upon her arrival, she meets Clark, a archaeologist who is also working for his own redemption - oh, and he’s a big time skeptic as well. I love a good enemies to lovers dynamic.

Go Hex Yourself

by Jessica Clare

Okay, so maybe I’m counting my chickens with this one because I’m technically still reading it (haha), but I’m really loving this one! It’s a paranormal romantic comedy and the first in the Hex series. The story is about Reggie, a lovely woman who is down on her luck in every aspect of her life. She answers a mysterious job ad and winds up a witch’s familiar. She meets her witch’s nephew, Ben, who is gorgeous, but intimidating and seemingly arrogant. Both of these characters have layers, and I am enjoying reading about how their characters are evolving. I love a good character arc.

Not Your Ex’s Hexes

by April Asher

This was the first book I read by Asher and I loved it! It was so fun to read while still having substance. It is also the second book in the Supernatural Singles series. This installment is about Rose who is one of the Maxwell witch triplets who had previously spent her whole life training to be the “head” witch, only to find out it wasn’t meant to be hers. Now she has to figure out what to do with her life. She has a one night stand with half-demon veterinarian, Damian. Damian is broody and neither of these two are looking for commitment. However, their chemistry causes them to agree to a friends with benefits situation….hm. We all know how those turn out lol

If you take a chance on any of these, let me know what you think! And if you have any recommendations for me - by all means, leave me a comment or send me a message on any of my socials! Until next time, happy reading!
