A What Happens in Vegas story
by Teri Anne Stanley
Synopsis
Their love is a long shot...
Aspiring writer Kellie Dalton needs a man, and fast. When she’s rear-ended by a sexy-as-sin biker on the way to a Vegas romance readers convention, she sees her chance. If he’ll pose as her fake boyfriend long enough to impress a bestselling author, Kellie has a shot at saving the bookstore for underprivileged kids she runs back home.
Quinn Anderson doesn’t know what to make of the cute little writer who stirs his heart and his libido, but he does know he wants to get better acquainted. And if that means keeping up their sexy ruse all week, he’s game.
Quinn knows a girl like Kellie deserves someone with a secure future to help with her store, not a guy struggling to turn a profit on his chopper shop. But if his motorcycle designs win the big Vegas competition, he’ll have enough prize money to fund his dreams…and hers.
Review
Accidentally in Love with the Biker is such a great story - I loved it even when there were parts that I didn't like so much (more about that in a minute). Kellie is a kid's-bookstore-owning-romance-author, and she's in Las Vegas for a conference/convention for romance writers and readers. She's also there meeting her friend who is apparently way more successful than her. We learn, however, that her friend is that successful through the help she received from Kellie, who can't seem to do the same for herself. On her way to meeting her friend, Kellie runs into (literally) Quinn. Quinn is this biker guy who we later find out a lot more about his background. This guy has layers, my dear reader.
What I loved about this story are first, the facts: I love reading stories about authors, especially if they are romance authors. Kellie is also a bookstore owner to boot - that is awesome. Quinn was also not a mean guy, which is refreshing! He's actually quite the gentleman, and, like I said, layers. The story also contains my favorite catnip: a fake relationship. Kellie asks Quinn to help her out, and it leads to a prolonged fake relationship for the duration of the convention. Both characters have quite lovely personalities that just seem to mesh really well. There was truly great chemistry between these two.
What I didn't like was all the stuff that wasn't said! I wanted to learn more about Kellie's book and background. I know it's a "what happens in vegas" kind of story, and we're only given a weekend....but I really like her character! She's cute, and funny - and just lovely. I wanted to learn more about her. I feel like I got to know Quinn very well, so a balance would have been nice.
All in all, quite the fun quick read, and I'd recommend it for all those fellow fake-relationship-catnip lovers out there!
