When I was a kid, I was enamored by ghost stories. Let's be honest - I still am. And it's that childhood love that prompted me to want to read Amanda M. Thrasher's The Ghost of Whispering Willow. And let me tell you - I was not disappointed.
The Ghost of Whispering Willow was a delightful read due to the depth the author took in getting the reader involved in the story and connected to the characters. The story itself was filled with adventure as the kids join together to find out more about the ghosts some of them have seen. It's Thrasher's beautiful story telling that gives these characters and their story the spirt of what it is to be young and full of discovery. Reading The Ghost of Whispering Willow took me back to my childhood and it definitely would have been a book I would have wanted in my small library back then.
This book can be classified as young adult, but can truly be enjoyed by readers of all ages. I encourage adults in particular to take a turn reading this book so that it can take you back to the days of wonderment and enchantment. And if you never had those days? Well, nothing like a good book to take you there.
