I absolutely loved reading about Gloria's new adventure in opening a chocolate shop with her friend, Kali, as well as her unexpected interest in affluent CEO, Mason. What a surprise - this was of particular interest to me. What can I say, some romantic elements are better than no romantic elements for me. The navigation of Gloria's trust issues, especially when it comes to Mason, as well as the mystery at the center of the book had me hooked. I love great characters, and Gloria is a great character. I am definitely attracted to stories with strong female characters and there really isn't a better way to describe Gloria.
Sweet Comfort definitely ticks off the boxes for anyone who enjoys an entertaining mystery AND for those who don't mind (or are like me and prefer) their mysteries with a dash of romance. The backdrop of a small-town setting also made this extra cozy for me. I was also very excited to see that I can expect to see more of Gloria in the upcoming sequel. Needless to say, Sweet Comfort is a strong first book in this series!
